Jeep JL 2018 & Newer Manual Transmission Shifter Adapter Installation Instructions:
1. Engage parking brake.
2. Pull factory shift knob upward to remove. A pry tool and hammer may be helpful.
3. There is a spring under the factory knob. After the factory knob is removed, keep the spring on the shifter.
4. Install the JL Transmission Shifter Adapter onto the shifter (over the spring).
5. With the shift knob threaded tightly onto the adapter, find the correct orientation for your logo so that you know where to tighten the set screws on the adapter.
6. Remove shift knob from adapter and tighten set screws in the correct location.
7. Thread shift knob onto the shift adapter.
8. Check to make sure that the reverse lockout mechanism can easily engage to put the vehicle into reverse gear. If you cannot shift into reverse, loosen the two set screws and slightly raise the position of the JL Transmission Shifter Adapter. Then tighten the two set screws and check to make sure that the reverse lockout mechanism can be engaged to put the vehicle into reverse gear.
